Who Are You?

Does your website content reflect who you are and what’s important to you?

Does your personality shine through?

When it comes to your business, it’s important that folks are  able to see who you are- not just the business you, but that thing that makes you special.

When I started this website, I had the words- that was the easy part. I just wasn’t sure about the look. After weeks of trying out different themes and styles- I thought I had settled on the right one. It worked, was nice, and really safe. The Critics that live in my home thought it was awesome.

The thing is, I didn’t have that same jazzed feeling  like I do when I look at  my current theme. It was totally professional and did the job. But it didn’t feel like me. This was confirmed when I had a convo with a friend and she asked why I had changed themes. I gave her the rundown and defended it with the “it’s a clean, professional look.”

Her response was simple: “But the other one was more you.”

Damn.

I couldn’t go to sleep until I had changed my theme.

Is your content really you? Is it technical, boring, or safe? It doesn’t have to be.

Let your freak flag fly. There are people out there who will totally get it.

Yet Another Blog

Words are my passion. Yeah, I know I said that on my About page, but it’s true.

We all have something that we are passionate about. Just look at the number of blogs and websites that exist if you need proof. You can find a blog about the weirdest things. I have. No need to mention any of them here.

And yet, that isn’t stopping me from adding another blog to the mix.

Because writers write. Blogs, books, articles, random words on pages during meetings. Doesn’t matter to us. I couldn’t not write any more than I could not breathe.

But don’t worry. I plan to write about things you can use or may find interesting. And no, it won’t be all about my life. I won’t say that some elements of my life won’t seep in, but I usually save the good stuff for my fiction.

Useful tips for reading this blog: take what you need, ignore the rest, and comment when you feel moved to do so.
